ROY OSWALT WAS ONE OF THE MOST UNDERRATED PITCHERS OF THE 21ST CENTURY
Roy Oswalt was a top tier SP in his prime who not only knew how to strikeout batters but how to lead his team to wins. After ten years in Houston, Oswalt was a 3x All-Star and recorded five top-5 Cy Young award finishes, accumulating a whopping 143 Wins and 1,593 Ks, both the second most in Houston’s franchise history.
After being traded to the Phillies, he put Philly’s starting rotation over the top to solidify one of the best four-man rotations in the history of baseball alongside Roy Halladay, Cliff Lee, and Cole Hamels with their combined 19 All-Star appearances. Oswalt was a strikeout machine who started 30+ games in seven consecutive years. His longevity and sheer dominance during his peak went under the radar then and continue to make him one of the most underrated pitchers of his generation.
