Back in February 2020 I hosted a Paul Auster Reading Week. He was my most admired living author then, but sadly he died from cancer last April. Rather than time a second reading week for the anniversary of his death, I’ve decided to celebrate his birth instead, which was on 3rd Feb 1947.
So who will join me for Paul Auster Reading Week II,
running from Monday 3rd and wrapping on the 10th of Feb 2025?
I thought it would be nice to also include books by his wife of 42 years, Siri Hustvedt, should you be so inclined. She wrote so eloquently about him when he died. I’ve only ever read her first novel, and would like to read more. Finally, I’ll nominate Baumgartner, his last novel for a group read.
You don’t have to sign up now, although if you’re keen to join in, it’d be lovely to know. I’ll launch it formally in the new year with the tag #AusterRW25.
