Since British indie rock four-piece Pale Waves originated in 2014, they have gone from strength to strength in the industry, touring with notable acts like The 1975 and Muse and performing at various festivals such as Reading & Leeds.
Fronted by Heather Baron-Gracie (lead vocals/guitar), Hugo Silvani on guitar, Charlie Woods on bass, and Ciara Doran on drums, Pale Waves released their second studio album, Who Am I?, back in February 2021. The record featured singles such as ‘Change,’ ‘She’s My Religion,’ and ‘Fall to Pieces.’ They are also set to join Australian pop-punk group 5 Seconds of Summer on their Amphitheater Tour this summer.
Pale Waves have made their inevitable comeback with their new track ‘Lies,’ the first single from their upcoming third album, Unwanted, due for release on August 12 via Dirty Hit. Instantly, Baron-Gracie’s punchy vocals keep you interested and wanting more. A funky bassline hooks you in as the track goes on before the infectious chorus sets the tone for the rest of the song.
‘Lies’ is a definite hit from start to finish, sure to get you intrigued from the first listen! Baron-Gracie spoke of the meaning behind the track stating, “‘Lies’ is about someone who built up my trust and destroyed it like a wrecking ball, caused trust issues for myself, but fortunately for me, that person is no longer in my life. Once you do me wrong, you’re gone!” It’s a song many people can relate to, with a punk-filled attitude. This is an exciting release for Pale Waves, and we look forward to seeing what they do next!
Pale Waves’ new single ‘Lies’ was officially released on May 9 on all major online streaming platforms.
