Fans have been wondering what the deal is with Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ Valentina Allegra de Fontaine ever since she first appeared in Falcon and the Winter Soldier. During a recent interview, the actress teased that she’ll have a long tenure as the character.
This news comes from a recent interview that Julia Louis-Dreyfus did with Rolling Stone. During the interview, she was asked about how long she would be with Marvel Studios, particularly pointing to rumors that she held a 20-picture contract. While Dreyfus dodged answering exactly how many appearances she has left to fulfill, she did say that she’ll be playing Valentina Allegra de Fontaine ‘for a while, it seems!”
The idea of Julia Louis-Dreyfus sticking around for a while likely doesn’t come off as a shock to many fans. It was heavily speculated even in the earliest days of Phase 4 that Valentina Allegra de Fontaine would play a Nick Fury-esque role in Marvel Studios’ newest projects. The confirmation of her having a hand in Thunderbolts further cemented that idea in many people’s minds. However, with three appearances already under her belt and more questions than answers, it seems as though the exact extent of her role is still yet to be seen.
Who is attached to the Thunderbolts movie?
During Marvel’s San Diego Comic-Con presentation in July, it was revealed that Jake Schreier would direct the upcoming Thunderbolts project. Eric Pearson, the writer for Black Widow, had previously written a draft of the script, with Lee Sung Jin taking over for rewrites.
