When it comes to picking out houseplants for your home, it can be tricky to figure out which ones are the least likely to attract bugs and pests like ants, mites, and more. Here are a few fabulous houseplants that you can put anywhere in your home, that won't likely attract any unwanted guests.
Jade Plant
I grew up with jade plants all around my childhood home whether they were scattered around the sunroom, living room, or even the spare guest room. Jade plants are quite beloved by many and do well with sunlight. They also grow quickly, so you may have to repot a lot of them to new pots once they get going.
Luckily, jade plants also don't usually attract many bugs. And if it means anything to you, I personally never saw one single ant or mite on ours growing up either.

Snake Plant
Snake plants are popular for their durability to grow even in dark places of your home and pest-resistant properties. These plants are hard to kill, and even for people without a green thumb, you'll probably succeed in keeping your snake plants alive.
They can prosper even in your basement, so there's no excuse not to get one now. Now, when talking about pests, snake plants produce a chemical called saponin that repels bugs like mosquitos for example. Another pro for snake plants? They don't require much watering either so you truly are getting one of the best houseplants on the market.
Air Plants
At The Spruce, we simply adore air plants. These fun and attractive plants can be hung almost anywhere throughout your house and look adorable in the kitchen too. They also can be placed on a counter or windowsill but hanging them is our favorite way to use them. Because these plants don't need soil to grow or prosper, the chance of having pests or bugs in them is almost zero.
Soil is one of the most common attractions to bugs. Pests like gnats or fruit flies thrive in soil, so with air plants, you're really not going to see much activity.
Peace Lily
Peace lilies are another common houseplant that is loved for their gorgeous white lily blooms. And along with their beauty, these houseplants are fortunately highly bug resistant too. If you do notice any bugs, you can wipe them away quickly with a Q-tip or cotton ball, but the likelihood of it isn't too high, we promise.
ZZ Plant
ZZ plants not only have a fun name, but they look fun too. These plants have luxurious jade green leaves that look beautiful in any spot in your home. ZZ plants will rarely bring in or attract any unwanted guests because of their waxy coating that deters most of them.
